🔥 BREAKING: Kamilla Cardoso powers the Sky to a crucial WNBA victory, proving she’s becoming an unstoppable force on both ends of the floor ⚡

The Chicago Sky controlled the game from start to finish, fueled by a standout performance from Brazilian center Kamilla Cardoso as they secured another strong win in the WNBA regular season.

On Wednesday (3), the Sky earned an emphatic 88–64 win over the Connecticut Sun at Wintrust Arena, and Cardoso was at the heart of the team’s dominance. The Brazilian center delivered efficient scoring and a commanding defensive presence. In a little more than 22 minutes of action, she poured in 16 points on an impressive 8-of-11 shooting (72.7%). Only teammate Angel Reese (18 points) and Connecticut’s veteran Tina Charles (the game’s top scorer with 19) finished with more.

Chicago Sky’s Commanding Team Performance

Cardoso made her presence felt from the opening quarter, scoring consecutive baskets in the paint and maintaining her impact for the rest of the night. Her steady production helped Chicago build a comfortable lead and keep full control over Connecticut throughout the game.

The Sky excelled in nearly every statistical category. They narrowly won the rebounding battle (33–32), dominated in assists (25–14), and shot nearly 48% from the field while holding the Sun to just 38%. Chicago also outperformed Connecticut in second-chance points (19–11) and fast-break opportunities (12–8).

Angel Reese once again delivered a brilliant outing, finishing with a double-double—18 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Rachel Banham added ten points off the bench. For the Sun, Tina Charles led the way with 19 points but couldn’t offset the team’s struggles, as Connecticut committed 16 turnovers and failed to produce consistent offense.

With this victory, the Sky reached their 10th win of the season. However, with 30 losses in 40 games, they are officially out of playoff contention. Cardoso, who shined as the team’s MVP in the matchup, and the Sky now sit in 11th place in the league standings.

Chicago returns to action this Friday (5) on the road against the Indiana Fever, who hold eighth place with a 21–20 record. The matchup is expected to draw significant attention, given that the Fever features rookie sensation Caitlin Clark—and the growing rivalry between the two teams promises an electric atmosphere.
